As one of the nation's fastest growing large cities, Fort Worth faces the challenge of providing adequate infrastructure and resources for that growing population — all while maintaining or improving quality of life for current and future residents.

The Sustainablity Task Force

The Fort Worth City Council in January appointed a Sustainability Task Force to investigate ways to ensure city infrastructure and resources can keep pace with growth. The Task Force will meet in three phases to create action plans for implementing rules and practices that will help achieve this goal. Phases include:

• Phase 1 — Sustainable Development
  Addressing actions the development community can take to make new and renovated construction more sustainable.
• Phase 2 — City Operations
  Investigating ways to improve practices at city facilities and in city business that help further sustainability goals.
• Phase 3 — Resident and Business Involvement
  Creating a strategy that residents, businesses and major employers in Fort Worth can follow to help achieve the goal of a sustainable city at home and at work.
