Recovery Program

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provides a great opportunity for Fort Worth. Federal stimulus dollars have the potential to provide immediate funding for projects that will boost our economy, provide needed services and put more people to work.

These Web pages will be updated weekly. Check back often to learn the latest about programs, projects and funding that are relevant to the region.

On Feb. 17, 2009, President Obama signed the ARRA into law, opening up funds for investment in many programs, including infrastructure, public safety, housing, energy conservation and education.

The basic criteria for projects are that they have to be ready for implementation, create jobs and carry a positive economic impact.

The city and its regional allies in the public and private sectors have developed a partnership — the ARRA Community Task Force —to ensure that all of the entities are working collaboratively to achieve the greatest results from the ARRA.

The collaboration brings together representatives from nearly every city department, along with representatives of Tarrant County, North Central Texas Council of Governments, Tarrant Regional Water District, Trinity River Vision Authority, The T, Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County, Fort Worth Housing Authority and chambers of commerce.
