Recognition Policy

The City of Fort Worth Recognition Program provides an avenue to showcase the events, programs and people that make Fort Worth one of the most livable cities in the nation.

Proclamations

The City of Fort Worth issues proclamations sponsored and signed by a Councilmember and the Mayor at no charge to individuals or groups. Final approval for proclamations does rest with the Mayor and MUST have the Mayor’s approval to be issued or to be presented at a City Council meeting.

Requests must include:

  1. Facts about the subject matter - enough information to make 4 points
  2. Specific title of what will be proclaimed
  3. Date of proclamation and date to be presented/picked up
  4. Contact information of person making the request including:  name, complete mailing address, phone number and email (if applicable)
  5. Are you celebrating an anniversary?  If so, what anniversary? (We no longer grant annual proclamations; rather we honor anniversaries like 5th, 10th, 15th, etc.)
  6. Are you a nationally recognized non-profit organization?

All requests must be made at least 30 days prior to the date the proclamation will be presented or picked up.
