Third Party Program
Due to the volume of construction in Fort Worth, City Council established a 3rd Party program whereby approved companies could be allowed to perform plans review or field inspections in lieu of city staff. A contractor, developer or other project leader may elect to hire one of these companies for either plans review, field inspections or both on their projects.
When using the third party program, city staff will maintain a quality control check on plans review and inspections. As such, permit fees are reduced since city staff will only be used as quality control.
This program only covers the code items listed under each company’s approval. Such companies cannot do work outside of their authorized authority.
Please find a list of City of Fort Worth certified Third Party Firms.
Note: The firms listed on the link above met minimum standards of education and experience established by the City of Fort Worth. The City does not guarantee their work nor warrant that they are qualified to perform services for any specific project. Before you retain a listed firm for plan review or inspection services, it is recommended that you conduct your own investigation of their qualifications.
Firms that are listed as “pending certification” have not received authorization from the City to perform third party services at this time.

Electrical, mechanical and plumbing fees include a Fee Estimation worksheet. You can estimate your building permit fees by selecting the Building Fee Estimator link.
You will need to know the occupancy code for commercial construction permit fee estimates. For residential, occupancy code R is for the dwelling structure and occupancy code U is for garage, carport or other structure.
