Fort Worth Library Interlibrary Loan

Use Interlibrary Loan (ILL) to request materials not available in the Fort Worth Library collection.

How Does ILL Work?

  • Open the WorldCat database by clicking either Use in Library or Use at Home.
  • Locate desired materials in the WorldCat database.  You can perform either basic or advanced searches.
  • Once you have found the item you want to borrow, select the Request an Interlibrary Loan option and follow the steps to place your request.  If this is your first time placing an ILL request, go to the First Time Users/Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page to create a new account.  Remember, you must have a valid Fort Worth Library card to place an ILL request.
  • After you have placed your request, log into your account to check the status of your requests, see what you have checked out, or edit your account information.

Note:  The ILL office only sends notifications via e-mail.  Please include an e-mail address as part of your ILL account information.  If you do not have an e-mail address, you may sign up for one free of charge from Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail.   Otherwise, put n/a in your ILL account application indicating you do not have an e-mail address. You will need to check your ILL account when you are at the library to determine the status of your request.

This project is funded entirely by a federal grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
