City Attorney: David Yett

The city attorney serves as chief legal advisor to the City Council, the city manager, all city departments, offices, agencies, and boards and commissions. The city attorney represents the city in all legal proceedings, and drafts and approves or files written legal objections to every ordinance before it is acted upon by the City Council.

The city attorney is responsible for preparing, endorsing his written approval, and/or filing written legal objections to all documents, contracts and legal instruments in which the city may have an interest. The city attorney is obligated to perform any other duty prescribed by the city charter or by ordinance.
