Council District 6
Councilmember Jungus Jordan

First elected to the City Council in June 2005, Jungus Jordan represents District 6 in the far south and southwest portions of Fort Worth. He was re-elected to his second term of office on May 12, 2007.
He is a Fort Worth native who was born at Carswell Air Force Base, attended local public schools, and then earned a Bachelors Degree in Economics from TCU and a Masters Degree in Management from Webster University. He is also a graduate of the Management Executive Program at Cornell University.
Mr. Jordan enjoyed a distinguished career in the United States Air Force that included tours of duty in Vietnam, Germany, and in administration and logistics for the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon. He is the recipient of more than 15 medals and commemorations, including the Defense Superior Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.
Upon his retirement from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel, Mr. Jordan returned home to work as a development officer at TCU, then as vice-president of Marketing and Business Development for the Eurpac Service Company. He served as a financial advisor with two national financial services companies and now works as an economist in private practice.
Mr. Jordan chairs the Council's Audit and Finance Committee and the Economic and Community Development Committee. He also represents Fort Worth on the Texas Municipal League Board of Directors, the Clean Air Steering Committee, the Regional Transportation Council and is the chair of Rail North Texas.
He has also been an active civic volunteer, previously serving as chairman of Fort Worth's Zoning Commission and Process Improvement Committee. Other community involvement included service with numerous local charitable organizations such as the American Red Cross, Senior Citizens Services, Rotary Club, and the VFW.

- North Central Texas Council of Governments, William J. Pitstick Award, 2009, in recognition for his excellence in leadership for regional cooperation in North Texas
Mr. Jordan married his wife, Glenda, in 1970 and they have two adult children, Shaun and Samantha. Shaun is a firefighter/paramedic in Mesquite. He and his wife Sumer have two beautiful children, Sophie and Sawyer. Samantha is a public relations consultant and community volunteer. The Jordans are members of McKinney Memorial Bible Church.
